Tour de Blast or in my case Tour de Ditch

My Goal: Ride up 16 miles to the first stop point and then turn around and ride back down to the High School, 34 miles.

Dad & Doug's Goal: Ride 42 miles to the top ( Johnson's Ridge or 3rd stop point ) turn around and ride back to the High School, 84 miles.

That would of been my longest ride accomplished!! Would of been, being the key words in that last sentence. That morning it was raining, and I don't mean a lite sprinkle. But that didn't really dampin my spirits because of my allergies. I started off on my lil journey feeling pretty good. Then about mile 10 the constant hill climbs started and my poor out of shape legs started to hurt. Let me give you some incite on how I ride up a hill, if it is on the steep side I do the Switch Back Method. I weave right and left. Yes I probably appear intoxicated :) So I was pedaling at snail speed at about the 13.5 mile mark and .... I weave right off the pavement!! I go to put my foot down and I am still clipped into the pebbles. Resulting in my falling off and over the bike and into a lovely patch of soggy wet grass and dirt! I fumbled around on the ground trying to get my right clipped. Two gentleman rode up and made sure I was okay and informed me that my water bottle had fallen off and rolled farther down the ditch. I got up and realized, WOW my right foot and whole side just aches. Why do I always have to fall on my right foot. :( I got back on the bike after a few attempts with the pedals and clip ins. I realized rather quickly that my ride was over. My whole leg was throbbing and felt like if got kicked in the hip by a horse. I met up with mom and put the bike on the bike rack. I became a supporter.

It rained the entire time, even started to snow when we were up at the top. Dad and Doug did a awesome job. They opted not to ride back down the mountain due to the fact neither of then could feel there limbs. I have never seen a person so cold. At there expense it was pretty comical for me and mom to watch them. I am pretty frustrated I didnt finish what I had planned. BUT I will try again!! :)
